As you can see from these pictures the builders have arrived and are very busy with the new school extension. Could parents please sensure they enter and leave the school via St Brigids during the building works

Ms Meyers old room while being demolished

Finally work is about to start on our school extension!! The builders will arrive the first week of December to begin work.  There is some demolition work involved, we are anxious not to have anybody in the building during this part of the build.  School will therefore close early for the Christmas break.  The holidays will begin on Friday 18th December, re-opening as planned on January 7th 2010.

Details re access to the school and the various classrooms will be circulated shortly.  All parents will have to access the school via the back car-park and St. Brigid’s for the duration of the building works.

School Buses
Please note that there is no longer an escort on the school bus.  All parents must ensure that their children are collected promptly from the buses.  If your child usually travels home by bus but is for some reason not doing so could parents please notify the school – failure to do so results in delays and causes anxiety to the child and to the parents waiting along the route.

Shoeboxes
We have decided not to take part in Operation Christmas Child this year.  We know however that many enjoy preparing their ‘shoebox’ as a gift for a child in need.  This year, we are asking those who wish to contribute to make their shoebox up for a child closer to home.  Darndale Creche are always very grateful to receive gifts for those in their care.  The usual gifts can be put in the box, no money is needed and there are no restrictions regarding chocolates/sweets.  Please mark you box boy or girl and leave it to the school by Friday 27th November.

Congratulations to the Castleknock National School GAA Team on their recent success in the Castleknock and Blanchardstown Schools GAA league
